PROJECT SUMMARY
Since 2020, our initiatives have made a significant impact, reaching over 21,000 individuals in communities, internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, schools, and settlements throughout Abuja, Nigeria. This aligns with the United Nations’ goals for sustainable development, particularly in fostering resilient and inclusive communities.
Our efforts included five major clean-up projects at key locations such as Jabi Lake, an IDP camp, and various settlements. These initiatives not only cleaned the environment but also promoted education and the adoption of sustainable practices. We focused on environmental stewardship, health awareness, and effective plastic waste management, contributing to the UN’s objective of responsible consumption and production.
In our commitment to combat climate change and its impacts, as outlined in the UN goals, we organized three significant tree-planting and beautification drives. These took place at Mpape Primary and Secondary School (2020), Maitama Village Extension Crushed Rock Site post-earth tremor (2021), and the National Open University of Nigeria (2022). These projects emphasized the importance of preserving biodiversity, food sustainability, and carbon capture through what we term “Air_Vestment.”
A highlight was the World Environment Day Green Hike in Abuja, with a record 421 volunteers joining our “ONLY ONE EARTH” campaign in 2022. This event demonstrated our commitment to fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.
Our innovative “PLASTIC TO CRAFT” training in Jabi, FCT-Nigeria (2023), educated 34 participants and nurtured three recycling entrepreneurs, aligning with the UN’s goal of promoting sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation.
The “Race to Beat Plastic Pollution” in partnership with the Ploggas Club in 2023 was another milestone, reflecting our ongoing commitment to sustainable cities and communities, in line with the United Nations’ sustainability framework.
